Herman Cain has withdrawn his name from the ring for Federal Reserve Board. He said the limits it would put on his ability to tell the truth, and to do other things he enjoys, would be hampered if he should take the job. He added that the sexual harassment allegations brought up during his 2012 presidential bid played no part in his decision. Cain is the Former CEO of Godfather Pizza, is currently CEO of New Voice.
Cain graduated from Morehouse College with a BS in Mathematics in 1968. Three years later, he received an MS in Computer Science from Purdue, and at the same time worked full-time as a ballistics analyst for the US Department of the Navy.
Cain left the navy and began working for The Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta as a computer systems analyst. He moved to Minneapolis in 1977 to become director of business analysis for the Pillsbury Corporation.
Cain also served as the Chairman of the Board for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, and was the CEO of the National Restaurant Association from 1996-1999.
