Democrats, led by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, are nearly all colluding to convince the American public that a border wall is “immoral” and antithetical to American values.
Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) argued in a rebuttal of Trump’s first Oval Office address Tuesday night that the president’s stand against open borders is a “manufactured crisis.”
However, most of the Democrat Party leadership previously supported a southern border wall to various extents.
In fact, the idea of a wall was once a mainstream position amongst Democrat leadership.
Just 10 months ago, Pelosi and Schumer approved fully funding on a 287-mile long border wall in Jordan.
As Breitbart News’ Neil Munro reported in March 2018, “The 2018 omnibus provides just enough funds to build 33 miles of fencing on the Texas border — but it also provides $500 million to help Jordan build a wall and defense line against jihad terrorists trying to cross its 287-mile border with Iraq and Syria.”
The omnibus budget says on page 394:
SEC. 9011. Up to $500,000,000 of funds appropriated by this Act for the Defense Security Cooperation Agency in ‘‘Operation and Maintenance, Defense-Wide’’ may be used to provide assistance to the Government of Jordan to support the armed forces of Jordan and to enhance security along its borders.
GOP and Democrats came together last year to fully fund a Border Wall, in Jordan…
So don’t give me this bullsh*t that Walls are “immoral.”https://t.co/m0oviiBfhv

Trump noted Tuesday night that his political adversaries, including Schumer, have “repeatedly supported a physical barrier in the past along with many other Democrats. They changed their mind only after I was elected.”
Last week, the president also invoked past pro-border security comments by two former President Barack Obama and twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
“We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented, unchecked…” Barrack Obama, 2005. I voted, when I was a Senator, to build a barrier to try to prevent illegal immigrants from coming in…” Hillary Clinton, 2015.

Schumer, Clinton, Obama – who deported more people than any president in the nation’s history – and numerous other Democrats voted for the Secure Fence Act of 2006, which authorized building a fence along about 700 miles of the border between the United States and Mexico. It passed 283-138 in the House, with 64 Democrat votes, and an overwhelming majority, 80-19 in the Senate, with 26 Democrat votes.
The fence constructed in 2006, which Trump himself has called a “nothing wall,” is not as substantial as the wall the Trump administration is proposing.
