Young Jewish Americans are urging a mass exodus out of the Democrat Party with a new movement the call “JEXODUS.”
“We reject the hypocrisy, anti-Americanism, and anti-Semitism of the rising far-left. Progressives, Democrats, and far too many old-school Jewish organizations take our support for granted,” the group of Jewish millennials state on their website.
Former President Barack Obama’s anti-Israel policies ignited anti-Semitic sentiments in the Democrat Party, JEXODUS spokeswoman and former Trump campaign staffer Elizabeth Pipko told Fox News.
While the U.S.-Israeli relationship has been fortified under the Trump administration, which opened a United States embassy in Jerusalem last year, the Jewish left disregards the president’s achievements.
“We saw a lot of anti-Israel policies under the Obama administration. And it got worse and worse – we’ve all seen it – its’ been plastered across our TV screens over the last month. There is anti-Semitism in the Democratic Party – they can hide it, they can do whatever they want – they failed to condemn it and now it is there. So it is time.”
Anti-Semitic remarks made by Muslim Rep. Ilhan Omar, D – Minn., prompted House Democrats to draft a resolution on anti-semitism. Democrats instead passed a resolution condemning white supremacy and any speech that is anti-Mulsim, anti-Jew, anti-black or anti-LGBT and failed to mention Omart by name.
Pipko slammed the Democrat leadership for failing to take tougher action against Omar.
“The scariest part was not the anti-Semitism. It was the lack of leadership coming into play when they were supposed to come into play and condemn what happened. And they failed,” she said. “Not only did the anti-Semitism that started with Ilhan Omar get worse and worse, by proving that she had supporters in her own party, but when the leadership fails to condemn that it shows they are a party of anti-Semitism. The president said it the other day, that’s what’s happening and they can’t deny it anymore.”
In 2016, Hillary Clinton received 71 percent of the Jewish vote, while Trump amassed just 21 percent, according to a Pew Research Center analysis of exit poll data.
But the cracks in the Democratic Party are widening as its leaders fail to condemn anti-Semitism, Pipko warned
“We’re optimistic,” she said. “The Democrats are helping us out. They are proving our point. They don’t care about Israel. They don’t care about the Jewish people and the Jewish people need to show them that if they don’t support us, we are not going to support them. We know that the Jewish people overwhelming support Democrats, but that doesn’t mean that the Jewish vote should be discounted.
She added: “We are going to gather Jews across the country to do what’s best for them in 2020.”
President Trump has warned, “the Democrats have become an anti-Israel party, they’ve become an anti-Jewish party ” and tweeted Pipko’s remarks Tuesday.
“Jewish people are leaving the Democratic Party. We saw a lot of anti Israel policies start under the Obama Administration, and it got worsts & worse. There is anti-Semitism in the Democratic Party. They don’t care about Israel or the Jewish people.” Elizabeth Pipko, Jexodus.
