Officer Jason Lawless from Tulsa makes a fatal shot on an armed suspect holding his estranged wife’s 2-year-old daughter hostage. The suspect, Salvador Reyes, was holding a pistol to the 2-year-old girl’s head when Officer Lawless took the life ending shot that simultaneously saved the life of the little girl.
The Tulsa Police Department has released the names of the officer and the man he fatally shot during a standoff in east Tulsa reportedly involving a child hostage Tuesday.

Officer Jason Lawless shot and killed Salvador Reyes, 42, at a home in the 4300 block of South 170th East Avenue around 3 a.m., according to police.
The standoff started shortly before midnight when Reyes allegedly forced his way into his wife’s home while armed with a gun and grabbed her 2-year-old child less than a week after the woman filed for divorce.
