Hot on the heels of the Mueller Report, there is mounting evidence that Hillary Clinton’s campaign tried to “get dirt” on President Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

Ambassador Valeriy Chaly confirmed that DNC contractor, Alexandra Chalupa, requested financial information from the Ukrainian government regarding Paul Manafort, Trump’s then-campaign chairman, detailing his dealings with Russia. They also said Ms Chalupa asked the president at the time, Petro Poroshenko, to mention Manafort’s Russian business ties publicly during a visit to the US.

Chaly said that, at the time the embassy knew Chalupa primarily as a Ukrainian-American activist, and only later  learned she worked for the DNC. He says the embassy considered her requests inappropriate, and as solicitation of interference in the U.S. election.

“The Embassy got to know Ms. Chalupa because of her engagement with Ukrainian and other diasporas in Washington D.C., and not in her DNC capacity. We’ve learned about her DNC involvement later,” Chaly said in a statement issued by the embassy. “We were surprised to see Alexandra’s interest in Mr. Paul Manafort’s case. It was her own cause. The Embassy representatives unambiguously refused to get involved in any way, as we were convinced that this is a strictly U.S. domestic matter.”

Chaly continued: “All ideas floated by Alexandra were related to approaching a Member of Congress with a purpose to initiate hearings on Paul Manafort or letting an investigative journalist ask President Poroshenko a question about Mr. Manafort during his public talk in Washington, D.C.”

Chalupa lied about her work for the DNC

In 2017, Chalupa told CNN: “During the 2016 US election, I was a part time consultant for the DNC running an ethnic engagement program. I was not an opposition researcher for the DNC, and the DNC never asked me to go to the Ukrainian Embassy to collect information.”

However, Chalupa acknowledged that she met with “representatives of the Ukrainian Embassy,” but said the topic of conversationwas an “Immigrant Heritage Month women’s networking event.” She did admit CNN that when Manafort was named Trump’s campaign chairman, she flagged for the DNC that Manafort had worked with the Russian-backed Viktor Yanukovych, Ukraine’s president at the time.

Federal Election Commission (FEC) records show Chalupa’s was paid over $15,000 in 2016, for “political consulting.” In total, the DNC paid Chalupa more than $412,000 from 2004 to 2016.

Ukraine prosecutor opens investigation

In April, Ukraine Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko began investigating the so-called “black ledger” files that led to Manafort leaving the Trump campaign. An audio recording showed that a senior Ukrainian anticorruption official admitted leaking Manafort’s financial information in 2016, including his ties to pro-Russian actors in Ukraine.

Ukrainian law enforcement officials said earlier this month they had a slew of evidence of collusion and wrongdoing by Democrats and were trying to share the information with U.S. officials in the Justice Department.

A Ukrainian court recently ruled that the Manafort document leak amounted to illegal interference in the U.S. election by Ukraine parliamentarian Serhiy Leshchenko and Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU).

All this information comes to light due to the infamous “Steele Report” which Hillary Clinton and the DNC paid for.

Nellie Ohr, wife of senior U.S. Justice Department official Bruce Ohr, acknowledged in congressional testimony that, while working for the Clinton-hired research firm Fusion GPS, she researched Trump and Manafort’s ties to Russia and learned Leshchenko, the Ukrainian lawmaker, was providing dirt to Fusion.

Fusion also paid British intelligence operative Christopher Steele, whose anti-Trump dossier the FBI used as primary evidence to support its request to spy on Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

Investigative reporter and Opinion Contributor for The Hill summed the situation up nicely. “For a Democratic Party that spent more than two years building the now-disproven theory that Trump colluded with Russia to hijack the 2016 election, the tale of the Ukrainian embassy in Washington feels just like a speeding political boomerang.”

When contacted by several media sources, Ms. Chalupa refused to comment.
